Can a yes-or-no answer speed up a claim? Clearspeed on voice analytics and “trust faster” at ITC Vegas 2026

Most fraud tools hunt for the bad actor. At the Clearspeed booth, the pitch was the opposite: clear the honest customers faster, and point investigators only where the risk shows up. The signal, as the booth screen put it, “lives in the moment, revealed in the voice.”

Key takeaways

  • Clearspeed’s voice analytics began in U.S. defense work and now serves insurers in claims and underwriting.
  • Its idea is “clearing the hay instead of finding the needle”: move genuine customers through quickly instead of putting everyone through the same checks.
  • Short, automated yes-or-no questions, in any language, flag where risk shows up so investigators know exactly where to look.
  • In underwriting, it can surface facts no dataset holds, like a home business or a dog with a bite history.
  • The AI only speeds up the process and surfaces risk points. People make the decision, and the result is not a rating factor.

What is Clearspeed?

Clearspeed, based in San Diego and led by CEO Alex Martin, makes voice-based risk assessment technology. It was first built for the U.S. Department of Defense, and the company was a first-time honoree on Deloitte‘s 2025 Technology Fast 500 list.

At the booth, McIntosh said the first use case was clearing commandos to work beside U.S. forces in a foreign battlefield. The problem was the same one insurers face: understand faster who you are working with, and get to a point of trust. That is where the company’s slogan comes from. “Our slogan is always ‘trust faster,'” he said.
